NHS NEL CSU needed a way to quickly react to the changing resource requirements of the Northamptonshire Local Digital Roadmap (LDR), whilst having access to the best talent in the market place.

The Scenario

NHS North East London Commissioning Support Unit (NEL CSU) were successful in securing NHS England Estates and Technology funding to support the Northamptonshire Local Digital Roadmap (LDR) Programme. Modis* supplied ICT subject matter expertise associated with the Mobilisation and Transitioning of Northamptonshire LDR Programme, including programme management, technical architecture, business intelligence and strategy communications.

The Solution

NHS NEL CSU needed a way to quickly react to the changing resource requirements of the Local Digital Roadmap, whilst having access to the best talent in the marketplace. The programme of work was fast paced and ever-changing, so it was challenging to scope out the long-term resourcing needs of the projects.

Modis* secured a 24-month contract to provide flexible resource to the LDR Programme. This overarching contract meant that Modis was able to deploy resource within 48 hours of a request coming through. This was achieved through the delivery of defined Statement of Work Packages, broken down by Project Specialty. These Statements of Work include defined discovery phases led by qualified specialists in procurement, communications and business intelligence, to ensure that every aspect of the requirement was fully identified, the best solutions agreed and the relevant risks identified.

The Outcome

In 8 months, Modis delivered work streams in Business Intelligence, Integrated Care Records and Strategic Communications. This included:

  • Project Management – reporting, documentation, highlights and RAID update
  • Securing stakeholder support for the project
  • Options appraisal of the business intelligence element of the integration engine project
  • Producing a data requirements specification for the Integrated Care Record Analytics
  • Supporting the technical delivery of the project
  • Producing a technical requirements specification for the Integrated Care Record Analytics for tendering pack
  • Creation of procurement advisory document
  • Development of illustrative graphic for LDR
  • Responsibility for delivering the strategic communications function for the Northamptonshire LDR Programme.
  • Development of the Northamptonshire LDR strategy for stakeholder engagement and communications.
  • Establishment and maintenance of an effective strategic communications, media and engagement strategy to support the Northamptonshire LDR's use of data and shared care records, working with external stakeholders as necessary
  • Establishment of an effective Communication Lead forum across Northamptonshire
