Welcome to the fifth ABB Formula E championship

Old meets new. Racing in the ancient surroundings of Ad Diriyah, all 22 Gen2 cars and drivers will take to the 2.495km track to battle for the first victory of the season.

Nestled beneath the nearby Atlas Mountains, the Red City provides one of the most dramatic backdrops for any racing series on the planet.

The circuit follows the form the Circuit International Automobile Moulay El Hassan - named after the Crown Prince of Morocco - before spilling out onto the streets of Marrakesh's modern hotel district. Created for the arrival of Formula E in 2016, the 2.093km track makes use of the legendary Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit. With race-ready surface and long corners, Mexico City is not only one of the fastest tracks in the Formula E calendar, it's also the highest at 2500m above sea level.

The EUR City Circuit is 2.84km long with a total of 21 track laps. The start / finish is located in Via Cristoforo Colombo where the Formula E cars speed around the Marconi Obelisk, against the background of the iconic Colosseum Quadrato.

But for us, it's the crucial mid-way point in the volstalpine European races - a 1.9km inner-city battleground and the only home race for our reigning champion Jean-Eric Vergne. While Paris might be the shortest track in the in the calendar, it's far from the easiest.

The ABB FIA Formula E Championship returns to the winding streets of Monaco for Round 9 of the 2018/19 season. With Nissan e.dams’ Sebastien Buemi clinching the win in both races to date, will the former champion make it to the top for a third time here in Monaco?
