Ontario Government Client is actively seeking a Technology Architect. As a Technology Architect where you have experience in fortifying network infrastructure and ensuring data protection. Bring your expertise in next-gen security solutions and coordination skills to help shape a resilient digital ecosystem for Ontario's education sector.

Note: The candidate is present on-site for three days each week.

Must-have

  • Cyber Security and Network Security

    • 4+ years of hands-on experience with cyber security, network security, and network protection solutions and technologies, preferably for Ontario K-12 school boards, including:

    • Next-generation cyber security technologies leveraging AI and ML

    • SIEM (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk)

    • Endpoint protection (EPP), detection and response (EDR), and Extended Detection and Response (XDR)

    • Identity Management (IdM) and identity security

    • Incident Management (IM)

    • 4+ years of hands-on experience with authentication solutions and technologies, preferably for Ontario K-12 school boards

  • Network Technology

    • 2+ years of hands-on experience with software-defined networking (SDN, SD-WAN), particularly with Fortinet, Meraki, Palo Alto, and Aruba, preferably for Ontario K-12 school boards

    • 2+ years of hands-on experience in data monitoring and management systems, particularly with SolarWinds, FortiManager, and Panorama, preferably for Ontario K-12 school boards

  • Coordination Skills and Experience

    • Strong communication skills demonstrated through:

    • 3+ years' experience in preparing written materials

    • 3+ years coordinating complex technical work with multiple IT teams

  • Industry Certifications / Relevant Degree

    • Cyber security certification (e.g., CEH, CISSP, or CISM)

Nice-to-have

  • Public Sector Experience

    • 4+ years of hands-on experience working with Ontario K-12 school boards, particularly with school board networks and network security

    • Criteria

  • Cyber Security and Network Security

    • 5+ years’ experience in network security on advanced SD networks, preferably for Ontario K-12 school boards

    • 4+ years of hands-on experience with various cyber security and network protection solutions and technologies, including next-generation firewalls, SIEM, endpoint security solutions, etc.

    • 2+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience providing SOC troubleshooting, support, industry research, etc.

    • Demonstrated experience with cyber security industry frameworks such as NIST, CIS Controls, COBIT, and ISO 27001

  • Network Technology

    • Various hands-on experiences with network infrastructure solutions and technologies

    • Hands-on experience with SDN, data monitoring, and management systems

    • Experience with network traffic awareness tools, data logging mechanisms, and network load testing

  • Coordination Skills and Experience

    • Effective presentation skills and experience in preparing written materials

    • Experience coordinating technical work with multiple IT teams

  • Industry Certifications / Relevant Degrees

    • Relevant vendor certifications or equivalent work experience

    • Cyber security certification

  • Public Sector Experience

    • Knowledge of Government of Ontario standards and relevant policies

    • Hands-on experience working with Ontario K-12 school boards
