Raquel has a background in Medical Biology and works for us in the Life Sciences industry. She has always had an interest in people and animals and in her current role these two worlds come together:

"Actually, I have always wanted to help people and animals, especially in the field of diseases. I wanted to understand the underlying mechanism. My educational background fits in well with the field I am working in now. For me, doing research is a very nice and instructive way to protect people and animals from all kinds of diseases.

"I am currently working in the Support department. This particular department helps Quality Control to ensure that tests are running smoothly and new products are developed and sold in the right way. Within the department, I work within the Analytics team where I mainly focus on deviations during the testing process. As soon as something is spotted, we look as a team at the cause and how we can improve the test.

In my current role, I mainly investigate things and communicate with various parties. A strong background in various lab techniques gives you a certain edge. With the right motivation and interest, you can learn a lot in the Life Sciences industry, which helps you grow in your field."
