Tom has been working for Modis in the internal Mechanical Engineering department at our Rotterdam office since October 2019. After obtaining his HBO Mechanical Engineering with a Minor Aerospace Engineering he started as a Draughtsman Engineer.
Tom tells us what it is like to work in a world that is constantly changing:
"As a Draughtsmen Engineer/Constructor you work on impressive machines and production lines. What attracts me the most is that you work together intensively with several disciplines in a dynamic environment.
Out-of-the-box
Every project that I work on internally brings new challenges. Today, we live in a world where technological developments follow each other in quick succession. As a result, I am constantly challenged to come up with out-of-the-box solutions.
Currently, I am working with my team on impressive packaging machines. These machines are part of the production lines where all facets of modern machine building come together.
As an engineer, constructing machines requires a lot of creativity. Devising and working out solutions remains an interesting learning process for me."
