Position Overview: As the Electrical Systems Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing the low voltage electrical systems on our trucks. You will play a crucial role in supporting the plant by addressing stop ships, campaigns, and quality issues. Additionally, you will lead V18/V19 initiatives and manage various aspects of electrical power systems, including low voltage wiring and EDS components.
Key Responsibilities:
Address stop ships, campaigns, and quality issues related to low voltage electrical systems.
Lead V18/V19 projects to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of electrical systems.
Manage low voltage wiring, EDS components, and electrical power systems.
Handle early claims binning/re-binning and coordinate root cause evaluations.
Provide part sign-offs to support vehicle builds and review Supplier Requests for Engineering Authorization.
Support plant material cost reduction initiatives and chair Electrical Variability Reduction Team meetings.
Resolve first-time-through issues at the plant and participate in Vehicle Functional Group meetings.
Coordinate and support engineering change trials, leveraging local supplier representatives when available.
Conduct fresh eyes reviews on pre-builds to ensure quality standards are met.
Experience and Skills Required:
Technical ability to remove and replace parts on vehicles.
Experience in managing low voltage electrical systems preferred.
Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Experience Preferred:
Experience with 6 sigma methodologies, preferably green or black belt trained.
