Akkodis is searching for a professional Construction and Civil Site Safety Coordinator to handle large, multi-disciplined projects for site utilities, earthwork, demolition, structural and industrial concrete, and flatwork. Type:
Salary: 70k – 80k/Annual
Location: Kansas City, MO
Duties and required skills include:
Controls hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities though interface with project management, supervisors, and field personnel.
Conducts regular walk-through safety inspections of construction areas to determine compliance with organizational, state, and federal safety policies and regulations.
Completes reports of inspections in a timely manner documenting any noted deficiencies and recommending procedures.
Maintains safety equipment and supply availability.
Assists with any accident, incident and near miss investigations occurring on the jobsite and completes all required documentation on a timely basis.
Performs special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization.
Assist with presenting safety training to support organization and client requirements including new hire orientation, fall protection, confined space, lockout/tagout and rigging inspections.
The Safety Coordinator will generally work on construction sites.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
1-3 years’ experience in the construction industry.
Current OSHA 30 Certification.
Basic knowledge in Loss Control and Claims Management
Basic knowledge of construction safety work rules and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations including, OSHA Part 1910 and 1926 Safety requirements, NEC, NFPA and ANSI standards for construction.
Basic understanding of state Workers Compensation laws and reporting requirements.
