Underground Utility Estimator

Akkodis is looking for an experienced estimator with strong communication skills to develop and prepare commercial, municipal, and private development proposals for submission. This candidate will be asked to procure and develop new client relationships as well. 

Type: Direct Hire

Pay Rate: 70k - 80k/annual

Location: Kansas City, MO

Duties and required skills include:

·       Ability to acquire, read and interpret drawings, specifications.

·       Ability to provide clear, accurate and detailed quantity take offs.

·       Estimate time, labor, construction materials and product costs to determine overall cost

for construction projects.

·       Procure, develop, and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors,

potential clients, and vendors.

·       Attend industry banquets, luncheons, and events to develop business relationships.

·       Able to work in team environment.

·       Advanced level of knowledge with AutoCAD, HCSS Heavy Bid and AgTek Earthwork

Estimating Software or equivalent earthwork quantity take off software.

·       Attend pre-bid and other meetings as required.

·       Procuring subcontractor pricing and procuring and maintaining relationships with

subcontractors and suppliers.

·       Developing and creating the initial project schedule utilizing scheduling software.

·       Receive drawings, specifications and other required project documents from Architect or

Engineer electronically.

Minimum Qualifications:

·       High School diploma or equivalent.

·       B.S. Degree in business-related discipline is preferred, but not required.

·       AutoCAD experience is preferred.

·       3-5 years of underground utility estimating experience.

·       Related field experience is preferred.

·       Current valid driver’s license.

·       Willingness and ability to travel up to 5-10% of the time.
