Ontario Government Client is actively seeking a Systems Testing/QA Specialist. As a Systems Testing/QA Specialist where you have experience in ensuring the quality and reliability of software systems. With over a decade of experience in manual testing, including diverse types such as integration and accessibility testing, you'll lead the way in executing testing activities and driving user acceptance sessions.

Note: The candidate is present on-site for three days each week.

Must Haves:

  • Over 10 years of experience in developing test cases/scripts and data requirements, including the creation of test scenarios for manual testing.

  • Extensive experience executing various types of testing, such as integration, unit, regression, functional, accessibility, and non-functional testing.

  • Proficiency in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and leading initial UAT sessions.

  • Working knowledge of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

  • Experience in testing Commercial off the Shelf Software (COTS/SaaS solutions), preferably Oracle Siebel Public Sector.

Nice to Have:

  • Previous experience working in Government or Public Sector organizations.

Criteria:

  • Manual Testing Skills/Experience

    • Over 10 years of experience developing test cases/scripts and ensuring alignment with business requirements.

    • Extensive experience in developing technical testing strategies/plans.

    • Demonstrated proficiency in testing non-functional requirements and documenting software defects.

    • Experience in test planning, script development, and defect tracking.

    • Expertise in UAT and leading initial sessions.

  • Soft Skills

    • Proficiency in agile methodology.

    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

    • Strong communication and meeting facilitation skills.

    • Ability to report progress on deliverables and manage stakeholder expectations effectively.

    • Experience in stakeholder management and resolving defects/change requests.

  • Public Sector Experience

    • Familiarity with enterprise-level systems and ministry QA processes within OPS.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of Public Sector applications, databases, and systems.

    • Adherence to Ontario Public Service policies and procedures.

    • Additional technical skills and experience in test tools, methodologies, and the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
