About the role

The Database Administrator collaborates within a Technical Strategy project team to design, deploy, and maintain AWS-based database applications.

The responsibilities of the Database Administrator include:

  • Aiding in database design requirements, encompassing timeseries, logs, and audit.
  • Offering expertise in configuring, building, managing, and monitoring databases.
  • Investigating incidents, including performance issues.
  • Conducting DB data extracts, reorganizations, refreshes, backups, and restores.
  • Developing and maintaining operational documentation for the database environment.
  • Providing support as an escalation point for database environment issues.
  • Assisting in the design and execution of Database Backup strategies, environment management, and business continuity plans.
  • Providing counsel and direction to the project team regarding data modeling and optimal utilization of database products.
  • Performing release and change management tasks.
  • Undertaking other duties as necessary.
