About the role

Deliver Java development capabilities and support services for the client's current applications, ensuring timely delivery of operational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within an application software project team to develop and maintain Java-based application systems, utilizing the Java Toolset within an AWS cloud environment. Skills are applied across Java, Springboot, Spring AWS, React, Gradle, and REST API domains. Experience with timeseries databases is advantageous.
  • Drafting and documenting specifications and designs for Java application software.
  • Collaborating with Lead Analyst, Enterprise Architect, and technical experts to analyze, design, and evaluate technical solutions and software development strategies.
  • Engaging in solution analysis, design, construction, unit testing, quality assessments, performance testing, and troubleshooting within the Java environment.
  • Managing technical risks, issues, conflicts, and priorities under guidance from Lead Analyst to meet deadlines.
  • Creating documentation and software in adherence to technical standards and guidelines.
  • Providing accurate and timely progress reports as instructed.
  • Facilitating the transfer of technical Java skills to staff, including documenting decisions and methodologies.
  • Working independently with minimal technical and design oversight.
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned.

Highly preferred skills and experience include, but are not restricted to:

  • Springboot, Spring AWS, React, Gradle, and REST API.
  • Previous exposure to cloud environments is beneficial.
  • Experience in large, intricate organizations, such as Queensland Government, government transportation, or similar entities.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed.
  • The position might entail quarterly Key Performance Indicators for upkeep.
